Girls Basketball top Mary Persons today 43-40

A 19 point 4th Quarter, led by scoring leaders Anna Hilliard (13 points) and Rionna Byrd (10 points) helped the Lady Trojans overcome what seemed to be another poor performance against Mary Persons.  The Lady Bulldogs beat the Lady Trojans earlier this year at Tattnall 45-40.

We seemed to be well on our way to another similar showing, but Mary Persons got in a lot of foul trouble early in the 4th Quarter, and Coach Greene's girls capitalized.

An air-balled three-pointer at the buzzer by Mary Persons sealed the victory for the Lady Trojans, who improved to 4-1 on the season.

Semester Exams will dominate the week next week.  The Lady Trojans will be back in action on Friday, December 17 at Georgia Military College Prep at 6:00 followed by the Varsity Boys at 7:30.

The Boys game saw a near repeat of last year's overtime thriller.  Trailing by as many as 20, the Trojans battled back and fell just short, losing their first game of the season to the Bulldogs 70-68.

The scoring effort was led by a host of Trojans.  Freshman Antone Johnson and senior Clay Rowland both had 17 points.  Senior Griffin Hardy had 10 points.  Junior Cam Person and senior Justin Walton both had 9 points.

Anyone attending these games certainly got their money's worth.  We are proud of the gutsy effort by both teams.
